Chinese chestnut (Castanea mollissima) is an important crop tree species in China. In the present study, Cytospora specimens were collected from Chinese chestnut trees and identified using molecular data of combined ITS, LSU, ACT and RPB2 loci, as well as morphological features. As a result, two new Cyto­spora species and four new host records were confirmed, viz. C. kuanchengensis sp. nov., C. xinglongensis sp. nov., C. ceratospermopsis, C. leucostoma, C. myrtagena and C. schulzeri.

Long-distance spreading speed and trend predication of fall armyworm, Spodoptera frugiperda, in China

草地贪夜蛾在中国长距离传播速度和趋势预测

Fall armyworm Spodoptera frugiperda, a dangerous invasive species in the world, was found at Jiangcheng, Yunnan Province, China firstly in January, 2019. It infested 22 provinces and 0.553 million ha at July 5th, 2019. Exploring its expansion pattern is important to prevent S. frugiperda spread and its management. Based on collected data, linear distance methods were used to reveal the spreading speed of S. frugiperda in China as 14.03-14.78 km/day. Based on the three models, S. frugiperda will infect about 30 provinces at middle of July, more than 2 300 counties at end of July, and about 5 million ha of corn, sugarcane, and other hosts in early of September, 2019.

草地贪夜蛾是一种危险的入侵害虫,在中国,首次发现于2019年1月云南江城,随后到2019年7月,草地贪夜蛾就已经扩散到了22个省约55.3万公顷的面积。了解其扩散模型对预防其传播和防治十分重要。通过直接距离法分析收集到的数据,发现草地贪夜蛾在中国扩散速度为14.03-14.78 km/天。通过3种模型的分析,草地贪夜蛾将会在7月中旬入侵约30个省,7月下旬将会有超过2300个县受到危害,到9月初,会有大约500万公顷的玉米、甘蔗和其他植物遭其为害。

Ecology basis and control technology system of invasion and outbreak of alien pest Brontispa longissima

Palm leaf beetle [Brontispa longissima (Gestro)] is an important Palmae plant parasitical pest. It invaded Hainan in 2002, then broke out, resulted in serious reduction of coconut and betel nut production, and seriously threatened the healthy and sustainable development of the industry of coconut and betel nut in China. At the same time, it posed a huge threat to the green ecological security and tropical natural landscape in the southern coastal areas. After researching for more than 10 years, the key technology system of emergency control and sustainable management were developed and integrated based on clarifying the occurrence and damage rule, and the invasion mechanism of the pest. The technology system has been widely used in the invasive area of the pest and achieved remarkable benefits.

 椰心叶甲 Brontispa longissima(Gestro) 是棕榈科植物上的一种重要寄生害虫,2002 年入侵海南并暴发,导致椰子、槟榔等严重减产,严重威胁中国椰子、槟榔产业的发展,同时对中国南方沿海地区的生态安全和自然景观构成了巨大威胁。通过 10 多年的研究,在阐明该虫发生危害规律和入侵成灾机理的基础上,研发和集成创新了应急防控与持续控制关键技术体系,并较为广泛地应用于南方椰心叶甲入侵发生区域,取得了显著的效益。
