A new paper from our laboratory, Xylosandrus spp. are of asian origin and have become pests of natural forests and plantations across the world
“We have a new paper on ambrosia co-phylogenetics and symbiont swapping in Xylosandrus and related genera”
https://lnkd.in/eB2urK3
Highlights:
1) The mycangium is selective, but not species-specific.
2) Co-phylogenetic analysis tells us which fungi are most likely to be swapped between beetles.
Similar studies could inform management of introduced insect-vectored tree pathogens.
